Ann is a partner in the law firm of Zateeny Loftus, LLP. Ann represents a number of national, regional and local nonprofit organizations in corporate and fiduciary matters, all aspects of obtaining and maintaining tax-exempt status, management of endowment funds, and charitable giving programs, particularly planned giving vehicles such as charitable remainder trusts, charitable gift annuities and pooled income funds. Ann has formed new publicly supported tax-exempt organizations and numerous private foundations, has been involved in mergers and demergers of tax-exempt healthcare institutions, and has handled reformation proceedings for defective testamentary perpetual charitable trusts and split-interests trusts. Ann also has an active Orphans’ Court litigation practice in the representation of nonprofit organizations and their endowment funds. Ann also has over 18 years experience in the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration, and income, estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning. Before joining Zateeny Loftus, Ann was a partner in the Philadelphia office of Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP. Prior to the practice of law, Ann worked for several years as a college business administrator.
Ann has taught courses on exempt organizations, on income taxation, and on estate planning at Temple University School of Law. She is also a frequent lecturer on a variety of planned giving topics, tax, and estate planning. Ann serves on the Board of Directors of the Fabric Workshop and Museum. Ann has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America for Trusts and Estates and as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer.
